Senior Purchasing Specialist

The Senior Purchasing Specialist– Construction is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. This role ensures cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project budgets and timelines
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and material requisitions
- Analyze bids and proposals to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with specifications
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and site teams to forecast material requirements
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and cost reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage inventory control and coordinate logistics to prevent project delays
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 4+ years of procurement experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor trades
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Work Environment
- Office-based with frequent interaction with construction sites
