Qualifications & Requirements
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification minimum Level 7 Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent
• Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role within construction, infrastructure, or related sectors
• Strong knowledge of current legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to influence and lead a safety culture across multiple sites
• Willingness to travel to multi-site locations as required
• Full, clean driving licence
• Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite, safety management software)
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Health & Safety policies and procedures across multiple projects
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, providing clear reporting to senior management
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence
• Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, safety documentation, and reports
• Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and promote a strong safety culture among staff, contractors, and subcontractors
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to ensure full compliance with legislation and best practice
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date H&S records, ensuring documentation is readily available for audits and inspections
• Support senior management in strategic H&S planning, policy development, and implementation of initiatives to achieve operational excellence
