Maintenance Planner

Responsibilities include:

Provide effective support to Production in all aspects of maintenance planning, from analysis of the work requested to determination of the actual work to be performed including tasks, task sequence and methodology.

Develop planning schedules for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Calibrations using a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Coordinate maintenance planning and preventative maintenance through completion of planned and emergency work orders, calibrations, PMs etc.  Document maintenance work, including upgrades, made to existing equipment, including preventative maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation and records of repair history.

Develop detailed shutdown plans & schedule with all stakeholders and track and report on progress during shutdown execution.

Establish and effectively manage relevant information management systems, develop reports, projects, timelines and correspondence utilizing many different computerized systems.

Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports showing performance of adherence to the maintenance schedules analysing trends and proposing improvements, including corrective order backlogs, monthly scheduled PM’s and calibrations.

Format, write, deliver and review necessary documentation in line with the standard approval process, and facilitate others to do so.

Manage all maintenance vendors through all contractor management policies.

Manage permitting for all activities with the team

Support continuous improvement by active participation in system failure investigations and investigation reports, execution/development of change control, and contribution to Kaizen events as appropriate.

Provide support with audit/inspection requirements to ensure department compliance/readiness.

Required to comply with MSD Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day to day activities and all applicable job functions.

Work collaboratively to drive a safe and compliant culture in Carlow.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills
·         Preferably the candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in a similar role within a production maintenance / engineering org of a manufacturing facility (preferably GMP).

·         Experience of working in a fast paced environment

·         Have an understanding of instrumentation, mechanical and electrical maintenance works

·         Motivated – starter/finisher

·         Experienced in how read P&ID’s; interpret vendor documentation and follow all site policies and SOPs

·         Have experience in working on Maintenance Systems i.e. CMMS (preferably SAP)

·         Good report writing & presentation skills

·         Be experienced and comfortable with delegation to team members as an individual contributor

Qualifications & Education

·         Typically Trade Qualified/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, ideally in a related Science, Engineering or other technical discipline.

i.e. a national craft certificate in a mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation discipline (Level 6 on the QQI).
